Players brings together Australian and international artists across installation, video, painting, printmaking, photography, and sculpture. Central is the idea of the artist as a player: playing their own game with rules and incentives. Whether it’s Louise Paramor’s expansive use of found objects, James Mollison’s layered photographic methods, Amrita Hepi’s sampling of source material to create new narratives, or Lewis Doherty’s interventionist approaches to sculpture making - the artists in this exhibition are driven by play; they turn materials, gestures and spaces into experiments that produce new meanings.
