Exploring our perception of domestic spaces, Felixe Rives’ paintings provide glimpses into local homes with an emphasis on their contents and character. Painting on Perspex, Rives’ rooms take on a light and lively quality, whilst viewers assume a playfully spectral presence. Introducing a self-reflexive element and anchoring the body of work to the site, is a contemporary reimagining of the drawing room of St Brigid’s as occupied by the Moulder family between 1913 and 1919.

Felixe Rives is an emerging artist located on unceded Bigjigal and Gadigal land. Having emigrated from France at a young age, Rives’ works reflect themes of heritage, home and family.
