Yuta Matsumura is a Sydney-based multidisciplinary artist, composer, musician and producer. He works across a broad swathe of media, including sculpture, drawing, printmaking, music performance and production.

Yuta has recorded and toured internationally with bands like Low Life, Oily Boys, Orion, Th Blisks and The Lewers. In 2024, he collaborated with indigenous artist Keanu Nelson on his runaway success debut album Wilurarrakutu. He has worked at Papunya Tjupi Arts Centre alongside significant Aboriginal artists Carbiene McDonald, Doris Bush and Puuni Brown to realise projects and exhibitions. His visual art has been featured widely on album covers, gig posters and shirts, as well as being exhibited at artist-run spaces.

Yuta’s intention for his residency was to bring his own experience to the salubrious streets of Woollahra, and to realise a concert for the local community in Blackburn gardens.
