Join us for a relaxed walkthrough of PLAYERS led by Gallery Assistant James Dorahy. The tour offers a closer look at the exhibition’s themes and the different ways artists approach experimentation, risk and curiosity within their practice.
Moving through the gallery, James will share insights into the materials, methods and ideas shaping the works on display, highlighting how each artist approaches making as a process of testing, responding and discovery.
This is a free gallery tour - bookings reccomended.

Players brings together Australian and international artists working across installation, video, painting, printmaking, photography and sculpture. Central to the exhibition is the idea of the artist as a player: experimenting with materials, subjects and spaces. Their innate curiosity leads them to ask questions, take risks, and collaborate.
This is serious play - not just fun, but deep investigation. Whether it’s Louise Paramor’s expansive use of found objects, James Mollison’s layered photographic methods, Amrita Hepi’s sampling of video, or Lewis Doherty’s interventionist approaches to sculpture, the artists in Players are driven by play: they turn materials, gestures and spaces into experiments that generate new meanings.
Artists: Barbara Davidson, Lewis Doherty, Amrita Hepi, James Mollison, Nadia Odlum, Louise Paramor, Martin Sharp (1942-2013), Anne Zahalka and Clare Wigney
