Calling young makers with big ideas to enter the inaugural 2026 Woollahra Super Small Sculpture Prize!
To mark the 25th anniversary of the Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize, Woollahra Gallery at Redleaf is inviting young artists to enter the inaugural Woollahra Super Small Sculpture Prize. This free-to-enter prize celebrates the creativity of primary school-aged children, inviting them to create an original sculpture no larger than 15cm in any dimension. There are two age categories: 5–8 year olds and 9–12 year olds. Finalists and winners are selected by Woollahra Gallery at Redleaf's Director and a guest judge, based on merit and originality.
As well as online, all finalists are displayed at Woollahra Gallery at Redleaf in conjunction with the Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize Exhibition.
With a $500 prize pool, the Super Small Sculpture Prize is a fun and inspiring opportunity for your child to share their ideas, experiment with materials and be part of Woollahra’s much-loved sculpture program.

Super Small Sculpture Prize Exhibition

The Finalists and Winners of the Woollahra Super Small Sculpture Prize will be exhibited at Woollahra Gallery at Redleaf from 4 November to 29 November 2026. Come along with family, teachers and friends to celebrate the imagination of young artists in our two categories, 5–8 and 9-12, and vote for your favourite work in the exhibition who will take the coveted Viewers’ Choice.
This exhibition forms part of the 25th anniversary celebrations of the Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize.

Prize (non-acquisitive)
$500 prize pool
- Winner, 5–8 years category: $200
- Winner, 9–12 years category: $200
- Viewers’ Choice Award: $100
Finalists and the two age-category winners will be selected by the Director of Woollahra Gallery at Redleaf and a guest judge, based on merit and originality.
Visitors to the exhibition will also be invited to vote for the sculpture that captures their imagination. The artwork receiving the most public votes will receive the Viewers’ Choice Award.

Entry process
- The Woollahra Super Small Sculpture Prize is open to children aged 5–12 years at the time of entry and is free to enter.
- For the purposes of the Prize, a sculpture is an original freestanding, three-dimensional artwork.
- Entries must be no larger than 15 cm × 15 cm × 15 cm, including any base or stand. The sculpture must be stable and able to stand on its own.
- Each child may submit one artwork only.
- Entries must be the child’s own original work. Parents, carers and teachers may assist with preparing and submitting the entry, but the creative work must be completed by the child.
- Group or collaborative entries are not eligible.
- Artworks should be sturdy enough to be safely handled and displayed throughout the exhibition period. Extremely fragile works or artworks that cannot be safely exhibited may not be accepted.
- It is anticipated that between 45-60 entries will be selected for the exhibition of finalists.
- The Woollahra Gallery at Redleaf Director and a guest judge will select winners of the two categories (5-8 and 9-12). Public votes through the gallery website will decide the winners of the Viewers’ Choice.
- The 2026 Woollahra Super Small Sculpture Prize Winners will be announced at the Exhibition Opening on 4 November 2026 and Viewers’ Choice Award will be announced at the closing of the exhibition on 30 November 2026.

Super Small Sculpture Workshops
Looking for a creative school holiday activity?
This spring school holiday, young artists are invited to experiment and create at the Super Small Sculpture Workshops at Woollahra Gallery at Redleaf.
Led by practising artists Christian Bonett and Susie Rugg, each three-hour workshop takes children through the creative journey from their first spark of an idea to an original sculpture of their own. They will explore materials, test different forms and discover new ways to express their ideas, with guidance and encouragement throughout.
Whether your child is entering the Prize or simply loves making things, these workshops offer an engaging opportunity to explore sculpture, build creative confidence and bring their imagination to life.
Designed for children aged 5–12. No previous art experience is required.
